Tis the season to cozy up with some tea next to the fire! If you’re like us, you’re enjoying the crisp mornings, shorter days and are (very impatiently) counting down the days until your local resort opens. To help those in need to gear up for winter, we’re thrilled to announce that our November Happy Helmets is made possible by Sweet Protection! Sweet Protection is a remarkable company that not only makes helmets for just about any sport, they also make eyewear, technical pads and apparel - all while ensuring they have a low environmental impact! We’ve decided to give these top of the line helmets to SOS Outreach!! SOS is a CO based nonprofit that focuses on giving every child an opportunity to thrive, starting with the outdoors!
Giving Tuesday is at the end of the month, we’re overjoyed to show you what we’ve been working on so keep your eyes peeled!
We’re in disbelief that we continue to see such strong support for not only Happy Helmets but Save A Brain as a while. We can never say it enough - Thank YOU, without YOU none of this would be possible.
Big Thanks To Sweet Protection
“The year is 1988. Skateboarding is still prohibited, and the Sweet mantra was just manifested on a school paper. The Sweet Protection story started in Trysil, a mountain village in Østerdalen, Norway, when a group of keen river kayakers were missing the proper protection to push even harder at their sport.” Their start is one of the most unique and interesting in the outdoor industry. Our November Helmet Recipients
“When we humbly began more than 25 years ago, we took 15 kids from the big city of Denver to the fresh air of Vail Mountain to snowboard for the first time. Those kids left that day forever inspired by the transformative power of the outdoors.
Over two decades later, we’ve grown SOS Outreach into a national nonprofit spanning from the Cascades to the Sierras to the Rockies to the Midwestern hills—serving more than 4,000 youth each year across 15 locations in 9 states, and offering year-round programming at several of our sites.
Our life-changing programs combine outdoor exploration, positive adult mentorship, leadership skills and community service to help youth discover joy, feel included, overcome challenges, improve their mental health, and become strong leaders.”
SOS has impacted an abundance of both youth and their adult mentors in the outdoor community! To see how you can get involved click HERE
