Roxy x Youth Sport Alliance
Hey Everyone!
Welcome to the 13th consecutive month of Happy Helmets! We just surpassed our official 1st year marker of the program in January (see recap HERE), and we have the pleasure of teaming up again with the very 1st supporter of Happy Helmets - Roxy! Roxy has allowed us to accomplish a bunch of firsts - our first Happy Helmets, they were our first brand partner and they were there to see our first in-person event. We have nothing but love for this brand and the women behind it.
Roxy is an all women’s’ action sport brand that has been encouraging as well as supporting other women to #MakeWaveMoveMountains since 1990! Not only are they an all women’s brand paving the way for the future, but they make just about everything you can imagine to be active with style all while sticking to their sustainability efforts (to read click HERE).
Our February Recipient: Youth Sports Alliance
We’ve also partnered with Youth Sports Alliance, a Park City based nonprofit, to be the recipient of February's Happy Helmets! Youth Sports Alliance focuses to support winter sports activities for youth in Summit and Wasatch counties, promoting good sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles through participation, education and competition.
“The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) -- initially known as the Youth Winter Sports Alliance (YWSA) -- was established after the 2002 Winter Olympic Games to spearhead a community-wide effort to increase the number of children participating in winter sports in the greater Park City area. Today, YSA supports seven competitive winter sport teams, after-school programs including Get Out & Play (GO&P) for elementary school students and ACTiV8 for middle school and junior high school students. YSA also established an endowment to provide need-based scholarships for junior athletes. Through these programs, we engage more than 2,800 youth each year.
Current programs range from introductory offerings for 1st through 9th graders that keep kids active, engaged and away from their screens to teenagers aspiring to Olympic competition or National Team status. Through our programs and scholarships all local children are offered the chance to participate in sports and learn the true meaning of SPORT, our core values: Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Optimism, Respect, and Teamwork. regardless of financial status.” See how you can get involved HERE.
