Name: Gus Warbington

Where are you from: Bend, Oregon. Currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah

Sport of choice: Snowboarding, skateboarding.

Interesting fact about yourself: When I was 14 our house was struck by lightning and I was on the computer which was plugged into the wall the moment it happened. The computer essentially exploded in my face and I got shocked through my entire body via the mouse I was holding on to. So I can kinda claim I've been struck by lightning!

What inspired you to partner with Save A Brain?: I was inspired to partner with Save A Brain because I feel that there's a serious lack of dialogue around mental health in the action sports community and this organization is helping change that! The human brain is the coolest thing in the universe, yet we often take it for granted and don't treat our most precious organ with the respect and care that it deserves. There is an inherent risk to our brains when we participate in action sports; this is an unavoidable reality in what we do. What we can do however is take reasonable steps of precaution in these sports, learn more about how our brains recover from injury, and most importantly, create a dialogue around destigmatizing mental health so our community feels supported and nobody suffers in silence. It's been really inspiring to see how Save a Brain has taken the initiative in building that community and I'm so happy and honored to be a part of it!!
