Hey Everyone!

Roxy has allowed us to accomplish a bunch of firsts - our first Happy Helmets, they were our first brand partner and they were there to see our first in-person event. We have nothing but love for this brand and the women behind it.

Not only are they an all women’s brand paving the way for the future, but they make just about everything you can imagine to be active with style all while sticking to their sustainability efforts (to read click HERE).

Our February Recipient: Youth Sports Alliance

We’ve also partnered with Youth Sports Alliance, a Park City based nonprofit, to be the recipient of February's Happy Helmets! Youth Sports Alliance focuses to support winter sports activities for youth in Summit and Wasatch counties, promoting good sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles through participation, education and competition.

“The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) -- initially known as the Youth Winter Sports Alliance (YWSA) -- was established after the 2002 Winter Olympic Games to spearhead a community-wide effort to increase the number of children participating in winter sports in the greater Park City area.  Today, YSA supports seven competitive winter sport teams, after-school programs including Get Out & Play (GO&P) for elementary school students and ACTiV8 for middle school and junior high school students.  YSA also established an endowment to provide need-based scholarships for junior athletes. Through these programs, we engage more than 2,800 youth each year.

Current programs range from introductory offerings for 1st through 9th graders that keep kids active, engaged and away from their screens to teenagers aspiring to Olympic competition or National Team status. Through our programs and scholarships all local children are offered the chance to participate in sports and learn the true meaning of SPORT, our core values: Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Optimism, Respect, and Teamwork. regardless of financial status.” See how you can get involved HERE.

Happy Helmets | Giro x SOS Outreach

Thank YOU to everyone that helped to spread the word and/or donated to our Giving Tuesday efforts! We had an amazing outcome and couldn’t be more thrilled to give the gift of brain health to those in recovery - thanks to you.

We hope that everyone is enjoying the winter season thus far! Tis the season to get back on the mountain, and that might mean it’s time to start looking for a new helmet. If you ever have any questions about helmets please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via IG or email.

Giro x SOS Outreach

Happy New Year everyone!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season! This past month has been jam packed for Save a Brain so buckle up as we take you for a ride!

January marks 1 full year of our Happy Helmets program! Thanks to all of the support of brands, we saved over 350 brains in 2021! We’ve been extremely lucky to have the support of Giro, a helmet company that has been a pillar within the action sports helmet industry since 1985. They started out as a bike helmet brand and launched their first snow helmet in 1999 and have been unstoppable ever since. We’ve decided to donate these epic Giro helmets to SOS Outreach. SOS is a CO based nonprofit that focuses on giving every child an opportunity to thrive, starting with the outdoors! They’re an incredible non-profit and this is our second time donating our Happy Helmets to their foundation!

Huge Thanks to Giro:

Giro’s mission is extremely admirable and unique: “You Make Us Do It. KEEP STRIVING FOR FURTHER, FASTER AND BETTER. WE’LL KEEP MAKING THE GEAR THAT GETS YOU THERE.”

“You, doing things that most people wouldn’t even consider. Drawing a line that’s rarely inbounds. Descending at speeds that would give your underwriter pause. Pushing yourself in ways nature and gravity never intended. As long as you’re relentlessly pushing forward, we will too. When you stop, that’s when we’ll stop. We’re obsessing over your passion. Destroying more helmets in testing and development than some brands even create. We’re agonizing over vent sizes and inseam lengths. Pouring our years, our hearts, our sweat, into one insole, one goggle, one helmet at a time. Plainly said, being there when you need us most.”

Our January Recipient: SOS Outreach:

“When we humbly began more than 25 years ago, we took 15 kids from the big city of Denver to the fresh air of Vail Mountain to snowboard for the first time. Those kids left that day forever inspired by the transformative power of the outdoors.

Over two decades later, we’ve grown SOS Outreach into a national nonprofit spanning from the Cascades to the Sierras to the Rockies to the Midwestern hills—serving more than 4,000 youth each year across 15 locations in 9 states, and offering year-round programming at several of our sites.

Our life-changing programs combine outdoor exploration, positive adult mentorship, leadership skills and community service to help youth discover joy, feel included, overcome challenges, improve their mental health, and become strong leaders.”

SOS has impacted an abundance of both youth and their adult mentors in the outdoor community! To see how you can get involved click HERE.
