Brain injuries can affect anyone. That’s why we’re here. For survivors, supporters, and anyone who cares about brain health.
SAVE A BRAIN’S MISSION
Save A Brain is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide education, encourage prevention, and spread awareness about the long-term mental and physical effects of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and concussions.
Just Got A Concussion? Start here…
A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), yet it's often dismissed as “just a concussion.” But concussions are the most common type of brain injury, and often the hardest to detect when symptoms linger.
Recognizing the signs is half the battle.
Over 2.9 million traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) occur every year
TBI affects more than just the moment of injury. Its impact can last a lifetime, disrupting memory, focus, energy, and emotional well-being. Survivors often navigate challenges like fatigue, mood swings, depression, PTSD, and substance use. Healing isn’t linear, and for many, it’s a lifelong process.
An estimated 5.3 million live with TBI-related disabilities — a number that continues to rise

HOW WE STARTED
After a traumatic brain injury during a snowboard competition turned Kelsey’s world upside down, recovery became more than just physical—it was emotional, isolating, and overwhelming. Struggling to be understood by doctors, she turned to friends and online communities, uncovering a heartbreaking lack of resources and support. From that pain, Save A Brain was born—a powerful movement that began on Instagram and grew into a lifeline for others navigating brain injury recovery.
Help Us Make An Impact
Everything we’ve accomplished has been fueled by people like you. Showing up. Giving what you can. Believing that brain injuries deserve more visibility, more care, and more prevention.
Because of that support, our Happy Helmets program continues to grow — getting helmets to those who need them most. It’s a simple tool that can save a life. Safety should never be a privilege.
